O Lord, forgive us for the sins of this and every season: we place second matters first; we sit at a feast and yet hunger for your spirit; we become aware that the vessels of our hearts cannot contain the fullness of your grace. Remove from us all that competes with your way for us. Quiet us down, that we may be still and know that you are God. In silence may we hear your Word with new clarity, and may we keep it with new intensity, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior, in whose name we pray. Amen.
