Lord, we confess that we are no good at repentance or bearing good fruit. Too often, our repentance doesn’t come until we feel the heat of judgment coming our way, and we fear judgment more than we love our Judge. When it comes to bearing good fruit, we too often fumble around for last ditch opportunities for doing good rather than living a life of blessing people every day. Soften our hearts to your grace so we can be children of God in spirit and in truth. Amen.
