O God of promise and fulfillment, you command us to pray for the coming of your Spirit, and yet we confess our reluctance to watch and wait. O God of power and might, you invite us to pray for the coming of your kingdom, and yet we acknowledge our unwillingness to witness and work. In those times we do not perceive your presence, hear your voice, receive your blessing, or share your love with others, forgive us, in the name of the One who is seated at your right hand, even Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.
