Financial Fundamentals August 2026

This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest information is in the weekly bulletin available at church or through our web site.

First Fox Hill finances continue to be very tight for 2026. We did cover a significant expense to address some needed repairs to the church parsonage, but are behind on our Apportionment shared expenses and planned set-asides for major maintenance. You may have noted that the sidewalk along Salt Pond Road that was part of our roof repair/replacement project is now complete thanks to financial and personal labor gifts. Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to bringing this project to fruition!

Your donations go to cover many expenses easy to forget about. Some things get our attention like major roof or HVAC repairs, mission programs, and youth trips. And, of course, there are the salaries of our staff. But, without covering the “mundane” expenses like utilities, nothing else could happen. You may be surprised to learn that in the first 7 months of 2026, we have paid over $25,430 for electricity, $6,700 for gas, $1,166 for telephone, and $1,100 for water, sewer, and trash. Thank you for ALL your support.

By the time you receive this copy of the Anchor, you should have received your second quarter donation statement. As always, please remember these statements are not bills, but our way of letting you help us ensure we are correctly posting your information. If you have any questions or don’t receive a statement you are expecting, please contact the office so the finance team can investigate. If you need to update your e-mail address, please call the office, or better yet, send an email to churchoffice@firstumcfoxhill.org. If you don’t have email, that’s fine, we will catch you in person at church or send your report by postal mail.

Remember, on-line giving can be a convenient way to provide church support throughout the year. Gifts to the One Fund – General Offering allow the staff flexibility in managing funds effectively. Click here for easy on-line access. You can also use your phone and the donation QR Code or go to www.firstumcfoxhill.org, click on give, scroll down to GIVE ONLINE, and click. There you can set up one-time gifts or automatic regular giving on a weekly, twice a month, or monthly schedule.
