We don’t always or often want change, but when we do, we are impatient to see it happen. However, deep change doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen without deep intentions and commitment. Whether we want change or not, Lord, help us not to overlook the importance of doing the background work: When we are in the Word, in prayer, in worship, and in service to others, we place ourselves in a position to be changed to be more like you, Jesus. Help us become steadfast in wanting to and seeking to be more like you, Jesus, Amen.
