Expect the Unexpected - Modern

Lord, we get into ruts - ways of thinking, habits of behavior and action, things that become automatic. It frequently takes a great crisis before we change or think about our ruts. For Abram and Sarai, it took a chance encounter to disrupt their thinking and remind them that God would still make good on the promise to provide a child through them. No matter how long we’ve been in a rut, Lord, remind us that you are the God who does the unexpected. Help us learn to expect you to show up even in the most unexpected times and places. Amen.
