Lord, your teachings are pure in a way we aren’t used to. You don’t withhold mercy and grace, but neither do you withhold judgment and correction. You will reward us even for the smallest work we perform for your kingdom, and you will hold us liable for causing others to sin or turn away from you. You remind us that we are responsible for ourselves, and we are responsible for guiding others. Forgive us when we act badly and forget to bear our responsibilities faithfully. Strengthen us in Jesus’ name, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
