Financial Fundamentals January 2025

This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest information is in the weekly bulletin available at church or through our web site.

The new year is upon us. Most likely, by the time you read this, we will be working with funds for 2025. As of this writing, it appears we will close out 2024 having paid all our required expenses including all our Apportionments. We probably won’t be able to complete all our planned maintenance related set asides. Thank you to all who helped us to accomplish as much as we have.

Our immediate and on-going financial challenge, as you have no doubt read, is going to be funding the complete replacement of our roof, all of which is 24 and more years old. We have started to receive some pledge cards for “over-and-above” funds to help cover this significant cost. We hope to pay as much of the approximately $160,000 cost with immediately collected funds to save on what otherwise will be the interest cost of borrowing. If you haven’t already completed your pledge and/or started making donation(s), we encourage you to do so promptly.

New giving envelopes for 2025 were mailed on Thursday, Dec 19. If you don’t receive yours, let the office know so we can address the issue. If you have any questions about the envelopes, please contact the office or Bill Bryan, Finance Chair.

Don’t forget, you can donate in person on Sunday when we can all meet for worship and fellowship. Or, by getting your contribution to the office in person or by mail. And, of course, on-line through www.firstumcfoxhill.org, , scrolling down to the Give Online box. If you are reading this online, click here for easy access. Your annual donation statement (which is not a bill) will be mailed during January 2025. Please review it carefully to make certain our numbers match yours and let us know promptly if you find any discrepancies or have any questions.
