Financial Fundamentals April 2023

This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest weekly and year-to-date information is in the weekly bulletin available at the church or through the link on our web site.

As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2023, First Fox Hill is showing positive finances. While income is down slightly from last year, our expenses have also been down. We are current on all of our bills, our Conference and District apportionments, and our set-asides for future major maintenance. We will soon have some significant expense for our HVAC system, but our current funds should cover that cost. Thank you for being a generous church.

During April, you should receive your first quarterly donation statement. This is not a bill, but a way for us to make sure we have correctly recorded your pledge intent and giving details. When you receive your statement, please check it carefully and let us know if you have any questions. If you do not receive a statement, let us know and we’ll review our data.

Many of you have probably already filed your tax return for the past year and may be receiving a refund of some of the taxes you paid. If you are in that category, this would be a good time to review your support for your church and possibly use some of that refund to bring you toward where you want to be.

As an FYI, Amazon is discontinuing their Amazon Smile program which resulted in us receiving a small percentage of the sales generated by our members who signed up. While the program didn’t result in a huge amount of income, everything helps and we appreciate those of you who designated First Fox Hill as your charity of choice.
