Financial Fundamentals June 2023

This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest weekly and year-to-date information is in the weekly bulletin available at the church or through the link on our web site.

Once again I can report that our financial numbers to date look good, but the next report may be rough. We are current with all our bills, our Conference and District obligations, and our maintenance set-asides. However, that last item is going to be severely challenged in late May and early June.

The parts are finally in for the long anticipated replacement of a major valve ($4,380) and one of three pumps ($9,173) in our HVAC system; they are scheduled to be installed on May 23. In April we had to replace the over 20 year old HVAC system in the parsonage ($6,850). In March, “chiller” work was done ($762) and in May the unit on the roof of the Education Wing was repaired ($240). We also had to repair the roof over the pastor’s office ($3,744). And we are finally addressing the worn-out playground mulch for the safety of all who use it ($1,409 and a lot of volunteer labor). Major maintenance so far this year totals $26,558. Your gifts to the One Fund (General Fund) will help us rebuild our reserves.

Thanks to all who are regular in their giving so we can meet our financial obligations. The activities and experiences that happen because we are here reach many people, but they are expensive in ways we often forget.

Summer is upon us and many will be traveling. Don’t forget that the expenses of your church happen all year round. Be sure to make up your giving when you return or keep up by using on-line giving. Make your contribution from your checking or savings account or by using a credit/debit card.
