This report briefly addresses finances at FUMC Fox Hill. The latest information is in the weekly bulletin available at church or through our web site.
January started the financial year on a reasonable basis. Income was typical while expenses were down a bit, but early February brought our annual Flood Insurance payment and a new company/policy for our property insurance (church building and parsonage). Like many homeowners, that meant increased premium payments. As we move into the spring we anticipate a normal increase in operating expenses so we encourage everyone to keep up with their financial support for your church. In anticipation of those insurance expenses, we delayed payments for our Conference and District Apportionments as well as the set aside funds budgeted for potential maintenance expenses. We hope to catch up on those in the near future. By the way, if you are wondering about Apportionments, I am planning to begin a series of short explanations on the topic in future Financial Fundamentals articles. In the meantime, here are ...
A Few Words About Fundraisers: As outlined in the First Fox Hill Financial Guidelines, the expectation of the Finance Committee is, to the greatest extent possible, that all expenses be covered through the annual budget and regular contributions. Occasionally, unanticipated or unusual expenditures may be required and additional funds need to be raised. In addition, some groups directly or indirectly associated with the church may wish to raise extra funds for their group, program, or special project. If and when such a “Fund Raiser” is contemplated, the group will bring their proposal to the Finance Committee for review, discussion, and consideration for approval. If your work area or group is contemplating any kind of fund raiser, please plan to meet with the Finance Committee at least two months ahead of time for proper consideration and planning.
Donations for the General (or One) Fund are especially important as they allow us to function on a day-to-day basis thus making possible the many activities of First Fox Hill. On-line giving may be a way for you to simplify your giving. As you choose, you can make one-time donations and/or set up regular recurring gifts weekly, twice a month, or monthly. Simply go to our web page www.firstumcfoxhill.org, click on “Give”, and scroll down to the “Give Online” box. If you are reading this online, click here for easy access. Or use your camera to scan this QR code which you will regularly see in our publications and live stream. Thanks to everyone for being a supporter of First Fox Hill.
Please direct any concerns or questions about FUMC FH finances to our financial staff through the office or Bill Bryan, Finance Chair, at (757) 851-0748 or by e-mail to billb-1111@cox.net.
